The Best Beaches In Mexico

There are a host of different reasons why Mexico is such a popular tourist destination. It is a country blessed with historical ruins, interesting culture, delicious food and most of all the beaches. As a beach lover it was in fact the beaches that gave me enough reason to book my holiday to Mexico, Mexico beach rentals are second to none. It has an extensive coastline that is made up of both the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea on the east, and to the west you will find the Pacific Ocean.
The beaches and the sea will vary depending on which part of Mexico you choose to visit. Another thing that will vary is the wildlife you will see, the species are different on the Atlantic and Pacific sides of Mexico.
It can be tricky trying to work out which beaches to visit, so here is a rundown on some of my favourite beaches in Mexico.
When I think of beaches in Mexico Cancun is always the first that springs to mind. It has become famous the world over because it is a destination where college students from the US gather each year for a big party. But it’s not all partying here in Cancun, there’s also a luxury side to it too. Here you can find luxurious resorts, fantastic restaurants and also great shopping. It’s the ideal place to stay for convenience and you have miles of sand on your doorstep.
Playa del Amor
This beautiful beach is located where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet each other. It’s one of the most famous beaches in the whole of Mexico. Playa del Amor is also known as lover’s beach – this is due to it having such a secluded feel. You can reach the beach by taking a boat from the dock in Cabo San Lucas. Once at the beach you can enjoy some of the most amazing ocean views, brilliant snorkeling and also visit the Land’s End rock.
Playa Norte is located on the northern part of Isla Mujeres. The island is just off the coast of Cancun and is a great place for people to relax and watch the wildlife, Turtles and Whale sharks are the biggest attraction here. Playa Norte is beautifully lined with palm trees, there are also some bars and restaurants right on the beachfront. With it being such a short trip from Cancun it is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for a break from the busy city. I highly recommend this beach, make sure you have plenty of space on your camera because I know you’ll be taking hundreds of photos when you meet the wildlife there.
Are you a fellow beach lover that has visited Mexico? If so, I’d love to hear which beaches you visited and also the beaches you would highly recommend to others. If you’re currently planning your trip, which beaches are you planning to visit? I’m looking forward to read all of your thoughts.
