Rav 69

{xtypo_dropcap}Y{/xtypo_dropcap}ou can’t swing a dead cat down on Circular Road, without that cat ending up in few cool (and not so cool) bars. But you don’t have to be a dead cat to know that there’s one bar there that really stands out.

That bar is called RAV, and it has been spicing up the local music scene with a great mix of performances and people in a way cool interior.

RAV has been attracting a good mix of trendy club-goers and fashion conscious business types from the CBD.Booze and public performance have a long history, from absinthe in the Moulin Rouge, to cheap Russian Vodka and the cabaret in ’30s Berlin, to Martell and the KTV lounges here in Singapore.

Originally conceptualised as a boutique club, RAV has decked itself out in a vibrant coat of red and a kaleidoscope of enticing lights with a state-of-the-art sound system which pumps out Acid Jazz, Motown, funk and contemporary Latin House beats, woven perfectly into the tapestry of the club, and piling on a generous portion of Top 40 and House grooves when the crowd gets liquored up.

Manning the wheels of steel is DJ Illusion (Jimmy Wong, the Prince of Mohamed Sultan) who spins his unique blend of music for the crowds, who just can’t resist shaking their booties to the infectious beat.

In addition, they have line up of red hot entertainment at RAV throughout the month (like the Talent and Beauty pageant), including live bands every Monday, Thursday (ladies get pampered with free flow of housepour from 8pm) and Friday.

Home to many a fashion show and beauty contest, Rav brings in a crowd that defies the typical bar in Singapore.

From off-duty office workers to motorcycle racing groups to the serious party crowds, you never know who you’re gonna meet here in the wee small hours of the morning… uh uh, that’s right, Rav is open til 6am, and will be bumping in the holiday seasons!
